Athlone Edmonton Real Estate

The Athlone (includes Dunvegan) Edmonton real estate average sale price per square foot fell considerably this last quarter of 2011.  As has been mentioned before in other blog posts, Athlone is a hard neighbourhood to look at averages with.  Athlone is made up of an older section and the newer neighbourhood of Dunvegan (built in late 90's to early 2000's).  This is also combined with the fact that there is a higher percentage of basementless bungalows in Athlone, makes for an up and down average price.  You can see that generally in 2011 the Athlone average sale price per square foot has been in the $250/sq ft range.  The highest sale price recorded this last quarter in Athlone was $361,500 and the highest price for the entire year of 2011 was $427,500.  The average time to sell a home in Athlone was only 20 days this last quarter, much lower than the Edmonton average days on market of 54 days.
